One of the oldest theatrical works of the Western Hemisphere and the Rubén Darío National Theatre meet on the 200 córdobas, the highest polymer denomination of the family that the Central Bank of Nicaragua put into circulation on 26 October 2015.
The front shows the Rubén Darío National Theatre. The back is given over to the comedy-ballet El Güegüense, a 16th-century satirical play that mixes Spanish with the Nicarao (Nahuat) language; in 2005 UNESCO proclaimed it a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
A guardabarranco bird appears in the complex window with an optically variable effect, while the transparent window with the denomination changes colour. The note bears the date 2014, while it entered circulation in October 2015.
The note is a key piece for a «theatre and literature on money» selection and the highest denomination of the polymer line of the 2015 family, completing the set of five plastic notes. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
